Question: How can I close an already open port (port is used by Corba Services)?
How can I change this port number, and preoccupy a predefined port number, so that no other service can use the same port?
Answer: You can use netstat to see what ports are open but to close a port you need to find the service that is using it and stop it. In order to "preoccupy" a port you could maybe create a sleeper service that just starts and listens on the port. Then when the real services is started it would shutdown the sleeper service. Or you could just start the service that you want at that port to begin with.
