Question: Hi there,
I am writing from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. I was planning to get the organization I work for on high speed internet but unfortunately the technology has not arrived the area I work and they gave me a wireless connection option but unfortunately it way out of our budget (USD 3000 installation fee and USD 1500 monthly fee.) I was thinking of using the dial up connection we have to the only ISP in the country to connect the entire network by possibly segmenting the network and using separate connections, so that the 56K connection is not congested when everyone goes online. The ISP informed us that they don't support MultiLink modems.
Do you have any advice, all clients are XP and the DC is windows 2003 and BDC 2000 server. We have a Firewall on the dial up server(2000 server) for everyone to be authenticated when they dial out to the internet. We also use a DHCP server for IP allocation.
Thanks
Answer: There are products that will take several modem lines and use them as one connection. This would probably work best for you. This link should explain everything you need.
